Children's Chapel

 

Volunteers for Children’s Chapel in 2010 were Diane Fosmire, Libby Fosmire, Paula and Grandpa Fred. The students that were involved were Vance Cashwell, Maggie Overbeck, Sophie Fosmire, Dusty, Nate Northcutt, Ozlyn Shearon, Boston Wilson-Adams, McKenzie Naugle, Maggie & Lucy Neal and Lily Cunningham.

To wrap up the school year last year we took a group trip to The Aquarium in Jenks. The trip was well attended and the children really enjoyed the experience! Before starting our new school year Sabrina Evans visited to help reform the “Sunday School” format. We have now switched to a “Children’s Chapel” routine and the students seem to be adjusting very well. This season we participated in the People Look East Lessons and Carols. The kids did a great job!! The children also got to take home an advent wreath thanks to Jean McCollough who provided them for each Children’s Chapel family.

During 2011 we hope to find a way to incorporate Christ-centered crafts back into the students’ education. This does not fit into the Children’s Chapel outline so we would like to find a time to do it on Sundays or during the week. Also, we hope to develop a much needed volunteer schedule. We are currently preparing a song to sing with the church choir and hope to do more of this during the upcoming year.
